Our high performance alloys provide trouble free, smooth flow results for the caster. We are a pewter alloying company, having a combined alloying and technical experience of over 70 years.
Our most popular lead free alloys are 92-8 and MPK. The make up of 92-8 is the original ASTM standard for pewter alloy 92% Tin 7.75 % Antimony and 0.25% Copper. 92-8 will run about 70 to 95 ppm in lead. It has a liquidus / solidus of 455 to 475 and a casting range of between 500/600 degrees.
For Best Results with 928 Lead Free Pewter Casting Alloy
The alloy works well in either silicone or vulcanized rubber, sand and bronze molds. Some customers tell me that they even cast into plaster. Both metals run approximately .27 pounds per cubic inch. Bars weight between 6 and 7 pounds per bar.
